Alejandra Guzzo

Alejandra Guzzo is a documentary filmmaker based in Argentina. Since 1998 she has served as executive producer on several including DEVIL, FAMILY AND PROPERTY (1999), about the crimes of Ingenio Ledesma and IN THE MOUTH OF THE LION (2006) about five Cuban men jailed for spying in the US. Her feature film credits include I ASK THOSE PRESENT (2006) and A PEOPLE OF OUR MAP (2012). Ms. Guzzo has participated as a juror in the International Documentary Film Festival Santiago Alvarez in Memoriam (Cuba) and the International Film Festival of Tucuman (Argentina) among others and taught at the EICTV in Cuba. She is the current Academic Director of the Department of Production at the School of Film, Video and TV, Tucuman (University of Tucuman) in Argentina and the President of the Association of Documentary producers and filmmakers of Argentina. (DOCA).

Andre Bennett

Andre Bennett brings to BIFF more than 33 years of experience in film sales and distribution as well as production. In 1983, he created Cinéphile Limited, a distribution and international sales company and in 1992, he founded Cinema Esperança International, a production, distribution and international sales company. Both companies focus on thought-provoking and entertaining feature films and documentaries. More recently, he is an executive producer on SHANA: THE WOLF’S MUSIC, (Switzerland & Canada); an animated feature, MAGIC OF LOVE (Norway), in production; and, two feature documentary projects in development: TARKOVSKY: THE CINEMA OF DREAMS (UK), and MAGIC BOX: THE JOHN MEIER STORY (Canada).

Sandro Halphen

Sandro is one of the most prolific Mexican film producers of the new century having added seventeen movies to his résumé since 2001. He has produced internationally acclaimed movies such as ACNE, official selection at the Cannes, San Sebastian and Toronto Film Festival and nominated to the Spanish Academy Award for best foreign film; and local blockbusters like MORIRSE ESTA EN HEBREO. In 2016 he joined Eckehardt von Damm’s CORAZON FILMS as Head of Development and is currently producing three films under the new label.

Tim Cruz

Manillan-born Writer / Director Tim Cruz was nurtured and trained from a young age to be a visual artist. Tim’s first exposure to film came while working to develop negatives in the back room of his father’s beloved photography business in New York City. His love of story and film led him to work in story development for The Weinstein Company, before locating to Los Angeles and joining Guerrilla Hollywood. Tim was recently a fellow in the Producers Guild of America diversity program.
In addition to film, Tim’s creative vision and drive has culminated in him being an internationally known, music video and commercial Director. Tim works with nearly every major record label, including Warner Music Group, Capitol Records, Universal Music Group, and EMI with some of the hottest stars, such as 50 Cent, P Diddy, Theophilus London, 30 Seconds to Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Barker, and Sabi. Selections of his commercial clients include GQ, Sony, Lockheed Martin, Discovery Networks, Bravo, Spark Networks, and MTV.
