Ina Sotirova is an award-winning Jamgarian (Jamaican-Bulgarian) filmmaker with 15+ years of media experience, specializing in uplifting and inspiring stories, rich in cultural flavor, and sprinkled with a flair for the spiritual nature of our world. Screenwriter, director, producer, editor and sometimes cinematographer, Ina is behind award-winning shorts freedom2dance (documentary, 2012) and Agwe (animation, 2018), among other short and experimental films, music videos, video art, photo-essays and more. Alumna of Film Lab Jamaica, Jihlava Academy Creative Lab and Columbia University, winner of the Du-Pont/Judy F. Crichton Award for Visual Storytelling, JAFTA Propella, Kingston Creative Pitch Forward Competition, Catapult Arts Grant, and more, Ina lives in Kingston, where she also teaches at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and sits on the Board of Women in Film & Television Jamaica (WIFT-JA).
