About the Director

Leon Lozano is the founder of Son of Oakland Productions. Directing credits include episodes of ALL AMERICAN: HOMECOMING (CW) and TALES ( BET), his comedic documentary PROM NIGHT FLEX (Netflix), his award winning drama, MY FATHER BELIZE (ALLBLK), and his feature documentary A LITTLE HOPE FOR CHICAGO winner of the Grand Jury Award at Dances With Films in 2024. Notably, Lozano was a participant in the 2022 Warner Brothers Television Directors Workshop, the 2021 Viacom Viewfinder Emerging Directors Program, the 2023 Netflix Directors on the Rise Masterclass, and The DGA African-American Steering Committee – The Learning Tree Fellowship (2024).
